Rooster and the Pig
About This Spot
Step inside Rooster and the Pig, and you’re immediately wrapped in a warmly spirited atmosphere that feels both vibrant and intimately familiar. Nestled in the heart of Palm Springs, this Vietnamese restaurant hums with a cozy yet lively energy, where conversations flow easily and the pace gently encourages you to savor each moment.
The space strikes a thoughtful balance — polished yet unpretentious, inviting you to slow down and enjoy a genuine connection with the food and company around you. Small groups chat over thoughtfully concocted cocktails, while the soft clatter of chopsticks blends harmoniously with bursts of laughter from neighbors at neighboring tables.
Here, every dish is an invitation to experience Vietnamese cuisine beyond the ordinary. The first bite carries you through layers of texture and unexpected flavor — whether it’s a crisp roll bursting with fresh herbs and subtly spiced pork, or a generous bowl of vermicelli noodles laced with grilled meat that feels both comforting and vibrant. The kitchen’s craft shines in dishes that find harmony between bright freshness and deeply satisfying richness, such as rice balls wrapped in aromatic curry or wings glazed with a luscious, caramelized sauce that gently tingles the palate.
The cocktails, as thoughtfully created as the plates, showcase ingredients that play off the menu’s delicacy — hints of lemongrass, ginger, and tropical fruit add an extra dimension to the experience. Whether you’re seated inside the warm, inviting dining room or outside beneath the desert sky, Rooster and the Pig offers a sense of connection — to the food, to the people you share it with, and to the moment itself.
It’s a place where the rhythm slows just enough to remind you why dining out is about more than just a meal — it’s about gathering around stories, savoring unexpected delights, and finding a little joy in the familiar framed through fresh eyes.

I can't emphasize enough just how incredible the food is here! We dug into the Bun Cha—perfectly grilled pork served with vermicelli noodles that practically melted in your mouth—and the chicken rice ball in curry, which was a flavor explosion. Both dishes had generous portions, so you’ll definitely leave satisfied. The vibe was cozy perfection. The place has a warm, inviting atmosphere that strikes the perfect balance between relaxed and lively—great for a meal with friends or a cozy dinner for two. It’s buzzing enough to feel vibrant, but not so loud that you can’t enjoy a conversation. And let’s not forget the service—shoutout to Colin for making the experience even better! He was quick, friendly, and had great recommendations. All in all, a must-visit if you’re craving delicious food in a chill, welcoming spot.

Please come and try the delicious Vietnamese food! The crispy rolls are amazing and the fish sauce that comes with it is spicy and sooo good. We didn’t like the bahn xeo as the crust was soggy. But the Lemongrass pork noodle bowl blew us away with freshness and flavor. Great stop!

I was on a bachelorette trip in Palm Springs, a total of 6 of us. Our plan after we flew in on Friday was to get take out from here but unfortunately, they don’t do take out. However, I’m glad we didn’t! We would’ve missed the whole experience of this restaurant. I think we got there around 6 pm on Friday and it was packed, we had a 15 minute wait. Completely worth the wait, the food was delicious. Our group did a couple of appetizers and then chose our own main entree. The drinks were delicious and before you get any of your ordered food items, they bring out a little rice porridge, on the house - it was very good! We were pretty hungry so I didn’t take pics of all the food. I highly recommend the fresh rolls!! We tried: Shrimp & Mango, Fennel, and Lemongrass Pork & Date. All 3 were so so good. Favorite out of the 3 would probably be shrimp & mango. For my main, I had the lemongrass pork noodle bowl which is essentially a cold noodle dish. The pork was cooked to perfection and the veggies were all fresh. If you get the chance to try this place out, do it!

This place is phenomenal. Every time I go to Palm Springs I make sure to stop here. If you can only eat at one restaurant during your time in PS - this is the one! Crispy rolls: perfectly crispy with a hint of citrus. Ube cocktail: creamy and unique, strong ube root flavor Crispy beef noodle: amazing, the beef is perfectly crispy and the noodles are fairly plain Cod: extremely spicy but even though your mouth is burning, you crave more of the buttery cod and dill

Excellent plates with lots of flavor. Fast and attentive table service. Beautiful indoor space and a handful of tables outside. I really enjoyed the vermicelli pork dish. Gets very busy after 5:30/6 so either come early or be prepared to wait bit

Just amazing! Pictures don’t do the food justice. We tried almost everything on the menu, and it was all delicious! Shaking Steak, Panko stuffed chicken were main dishes and delicious. You can do the pork fried rice as a side dish, but shaking steak already comes with white rice. Highly recommend this place. Staff is great and always checking up on you to see what else you need.

I have been to over 20 countries in my life, and this meal easily ranks within the top 10 I’ve ever had. The ingredients were fresh, the flavors were divine, and the staff was friendly enough to make us want to return even if the food HAD sucked. The worst part of this restaurant is that we don’t live closer to it, and Daniel was so friendly I regret not having met him years ago so that I could’ve asked him to be my best man at our wedding. If you’re considering getting dinner in Palm Springs, you’d be stupid to go anywhere but here.
